Bora originally hails from Assam. Her father is a retired army officer. Now her family is settled in Pune. It was during this time when she started modelling. She attended audition and got selected. She played the meaty role of Ananya, a radio jockey. Very soon she discontinued her studies. But after the series, she joined Fergusson College , Pune to complete her graduation.

Her second role was also given by Ekta Kapoor two years later.
