I look to create challenging spatial experiences, shared by many, that continue to evolve and expand over time. I love how cities are designed with a sufficient level of complexity in order to sustain interest, without becoming chaotic or unmanageable. There is hardly any wasted or unused space. Motion pictures share a lot in common with cities, and are particularly great at portraying them too.

In a single scene, you can experience the magnitude of a metropolis, then zero in on the stories and characters of a specific street corner. A good design statement is one that attracts more interest, inspires, convinces, and illuminates. As you may have guessed, this design statement is, itself, a piece of design. Its use of references is designed to get you to read it, pulling you in like a seductive visual.

Having graduated in and occasionally trading under the pseudonym Words are Pictures, he brings life to headlines, creates new typographic treatments and continuously explores the notion of word as image. He also works in a variety of media from letterpress and linocut through to the purely digital and three dimensional and previous clients have included the likes of The New York Times, BMW, Ebay, The Guardian, The Economist and a variety of publishers.
